731,272. Spectacle frames. FISH OPTICAL CO., Ltd., WARD, A. E. V., and McCABE, V. G. July 23, 1953 [June 10, 1952; May 20, 1953], Nos. 14618/52 and 14225/53. Class 97 (1). Spectacle frames having rims split near to where the side arms are attached are adapted to take varying size lenses or filters by a joint which comprises two bored members 114, 116 on the two ends of the rim respectively, which rim ends have a common longitudinal axis 100, one bored member 116 carrying the hinge-carrier for the side arms 127 and also a screening socket 121 within which the other bored member is received, the two bored members being connected by a bolt or screw 122 so that the ends of the rims are relatively adjustable towards or away from each other, the bolt or screw having its axis parallel to the common longitudinal axis 100 and its head bearing against that bored member 116 which carries the side arm hinge. The side arm hinge, which is entirely carried by the bored member 116 comprise earts 123, 124 between which the end 125 of the side arm is held by a screw 126.
