Abstract
509,635. Ventilators. CHRISTIANSEN, A. E. March 9, 1938, No. 7410. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 10, 1938.] [Class 137] For the draughtless introduction of air into an enclosure, a ventilator is provided with radially disposed vanes having a V-shaped or zig-zag shaped cross-section, so that air passing through them is reduced in velocity due to eddy formation, and distributed evenly. Vanes 1 and 8 of opposite pitch are arranged so that vanes 1 overlap vanes 8 to form projecting edges 9. The outside vane assembly, including a central part 7, is riveted at 6 to the inside vane assembly 1. The ventilator is shown secured to a window pane 10 and covering a hole therein, and is provided with a flap 14, the movement of which is limited by an abutment 16 to prevent downward flow of air.
