Abstract

505,386. Ventilators. GALBRAITH, A. Dec. 14, 1937, No. 34558. [Class 137] An exhaust ventilator comprises at its inlet end a number of convergent passages 10 formed between conical partitions 11, the air passing through a tube 7 to outlets between a series of arched baffles 1 to 4 arranged fanwise, such an arrangement being described in Specification 435,050. The outermost baffle 1 is provided with a wind vane 13, and is pivoted at 5 so that it may rock in a direction depending on that of the wind, so as to increase the extraction effect. The movement is limited by stops 12, and the baffle assembly may be turned about the axis of the ventilator. The baffles may be flattened ellipsoidal segments.
