[Class 78 (i)] The known process of removing material from hoppers by vibration is applied to hoppers constructed of material which cannot be vibrated, by .fitting them with an attached sub-hopper and applying the vibrations either to the wall of the sub-hopper, the final discharge pipe leading therefrom, or to the material itself inside the sub-hopper. In the illustrated form, the main hopper n of concrete is fitted with an annular spout o flanged to support an elastic ring p. The sub-hopper o<1> is supported from the ring and is fitted with a discharge pipe q through which the material flows when the vibrator d is working. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises-also vibrating means applied to hoppers which are made of material that can be vibrated. In one construction a vibrator was applied to a grating covering the exit from the hopper. In another construction a vibrator was applied to a hopper wall to cause delivery to a receptacle suspended on a scale-pan. At a given weight the scale-pan descended and closed a switch to cut-off current from the vibrator. In a third construction a vibrated member was inserted into the material in the hopper. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
