1 Claim.
The principal object of the present invention,
is to provide a convenient removable receptacle for blackboard eraser ledges, ,to the end that from time to time chalk dust and other small particles of matter can be deposited in the receptacle and at some after class time the receptacle can be displaced and its contents dumped in some large trash depository.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 represents a fragmentary top plan view showing the receptacle mounted on a blackboard eraser ledge. I
Figure 2 is a vertical sectional view on the line 2--2 of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a vertical sectional view on the line 33 of Figure 1.
Figure 4 is a sectional view on the line 3-4 of I Figure 1.
Figure 5 is a side elevational view of the insert frame.
Figure 6 is a fragmentary side elevational view of the cage.
Referring to the drawings wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that numeral 5 denotes an elongated eraser ledge such as is found under most school blackboards.
This ledge is formed with a substantially square opening 6 into which is placed a substantially rectangular-shaped frame 1 having side flanges 8, 8 apertured to receive securing members such as screws 9, which are driven into the ledge 5.
Certain lower edges of the frame I are flanged inwardly as at In and upon these flanges l0 rest the horizontal flanges of angle members I l. The upper end'portions of the legs of U-shaped straps l2, l2 are secured as by welding to the angle members H and these straps [2 taken with the angle members II define a cage for supporting a receptacle I3, which is open at its top and preferably has a rounded bottom portion resting on the bight portions of the straps l2 and a connecting member M which bridges the bight portions of the U-shaped strap members l2, I2.
It can be seen that from time to time chalk can be discharged into the receptacle I3 and as well other foreign matter. When it is desired to dump the receptacle, the receptacle l3 can be pushed upwardly through the frame I and entirely removed. After its contents has been v dumped in some large waste depository, it can be readily slipped back into the cage to repose as shown clearly in the drawings.
While the foregoing specification sets forth the invention in specific terms, it is to be understood that numerous changes in the shape, size and materials may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having described the invention, claimed as new is:
A receptacle structure comprising a supporting member having an opening therein, a frame disposed in the opening and having inwardly disposed flanges at its lower portion, a cage, said cage consisting of a pair of U-shaped members bridged together at their upper and lower portions, said U-shaped members being provided with angle strips to bridge the upper ends thereof, said angle members having outstanding portions disposed over the flanges whereby the cage is supported, and a receptacle for disposition through the frame and in the cage.
