Partition walls 20, 22 are angularly adjustable about the axis of a conical wall 4 of the container to define compartments (10), (12), Fig. 2 (not shown), whose relative size corresponds to the proportions of materials to be mixed, which materials are charged into the compartments (10), (12). Suction from a blower 28 draws the materials through the conduit 16 to treatment means 26, air entering through an annular passage 30. Struts 36 attach the means 24 to the wall 4 through intermediate elastic elements 42, and the member 24 may be vibrated by a vibrator (50) to assist material flow. The tube 16 may be adjustable relative to the axis of the container 2 to adjust the mixed proportions.
