Abstract
507,717. Centrifugal pumps. COVENTRY CLIMAX ENGINES, Ltd., and LUNN, H. Aug. 15, 1938, No. 23985. [Class 110 (i)] The exhaust gases from an internal-combustion engine 2, which drives a pump 3, are passed through a choke-shaped passage 10 to create suction in a pipe 13, and thus prime the inlet pipe 4a, of the pump. The gases pass on to the normal silencer 5 of the engine. After the pump is primed, a valve 7 is opened and the gases pass through a normal exhaust pipe 6. A lever 8 closes the valve 7 and opens a valve 14 in one operation. A trap 15 prevents liquid passing from the pipe 4a to the passage 11. Specification 507,716 is referred to.
