Abstract
507,304. Making labels. BURKEY, W. A. Dec. 20, 1938, No. 37002. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1937. [Class 73] Apparatus for cutting labels from a strip and folding the ends comprises a folding device to which the strip is presented transversely, the strip being taken by rollers and passed to a cutter. The strip A is placed with the folding line coinciding with a pair of folding plates 11 and moved until the strip is engaged by a curved folding blade 15 lying between the plates 11. Knurled, rotating rollers 30, 31 engage the strip and present it to a rotating knife 36. The rollers may be driven by flexible shafts so as to be adjustable for different thicknesses of material, and the folding blade 15 and plates 11 are adjustable.
