506,570. Decorticating fibrous leaves &c. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP GEB. STORK & CO'S APPARATENFABRIEK. Sept. 28, 1938, No. 28241. Convention date, Aug. 27. [Class 120 (i)] In a machine for decorticating fibrous parts of plants, having upper and lower hands or belts for conveying the material past the beating elements all the pulleys for the upper or lower belts, or of both the upper and lower belts, are overhung and each end pulley at the feed and/or discharge end of the machine is adjustable under the action of a regulable individual spring. In a system comprising three upper belts 3, 5, 6 and a lower belt 4 and wherein the belts pass round four guide pulleys mounted side by side on an overhung shaft 7 the end pulleys 8, 10, 11. of the upper set are mounted on arms 12, 13, 14 rotatable about a common shaft 15 and are engaged by rods 22, 23, 24 hinged thereto at 19, 20, 21 and each loaded by a spring 29, 30, 31 whose tension is regulable. The end pulley 9 of the lower belt 4 is mounted in a similar manner.
