483,216. Decorticating - machines. STORK & CO'S. APPARATENFABRIEK N. V., GEB. Nov. 15, 1937, No. 31383. Convention date, Nov. 5. [Class 120 (i)] In a machine for decorticating fibrous leaves &c. having two sets of upper gripping or conveying ropes 6, 7, Fig. 1, arranged in staggered relationship carried by coaxial driving pulleys 4, 5, Fig. 3, mounted on individual shafts supported on one side only of the corresponding pulleys, to facilitate renewal of the ropes, each of said pulleys is connected to a gear 12, 13 disposed on the outer side thereof and both gears are in mesh with gear-wheels 14, 15 on a common shaft 16, the distance from which to the circumferences of the pulleys is at least equal to the thickness of the ropes that are put on or are to be put on to the pulleys. The ropes 6, 7 co-operate with bottom ropes 8, 9.
