[Class 113 (ii)] An area of plating surrounded by four boundary walls, e.g. a bulkhead, is stiffened by spaced webs supported at their ends by two boundary walls, beams transverse to, and supported by the webs, and stiffeners transverse to the beams and formed by narrow recessed portions in the plating itself. The webs 64 support beams 65, the ends of which project beyond the webs and are unsupported. These support stiffeners 70 formed by recessing the plating of the bulkhead. The end of the recesses are closed by welded plates 69. In a modification, the beams extend to the boundary bars of-the bulkhead.
