Abstract
505,124. Automatic tuning correction. COLE, Ltd., E. K., and BRADFIELD, G. Nov. 9, 1937, No. 30700. [Class 40 (v)] In an A.F.C. system employing a thermionic reactance control valve V2 having a potentiometer 6, 7, 8, 9 connected between anode and cathode, a point on which is connected to the control grid in known manner, the terminals of the reactance connected to the controlled circuit 2 are constituted by the cathode and a positively biassed electrode 4 other than the anode, whereby the damping effect of the potentiometer on the circuit 2 is reduced. V2 may be a standard hexode, A.F.C. potential being applied to the third grid from the cathode ; a further positively biassed grid may be located between grid 4 and the anode, further to reduce the damping. Circuit 2 is the frequency determining circuit of the triode oscillator portion of the triode-hexode mixer V1.
