Abstract
503,639. Two- - part couplings; discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. (Patent-Treuhand-Ges. fiir Elektrische Gl³hlampen) Dec. 7, 1937, No. 33859. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XL] A lamp such as a glow discharge lamp used as a current indicator is constructed with an insulating-cap 8 that encloses the bulb 1 except for a window 12 and is provided with a screwed stem 9 for mounting the lamp in a socket 22, the contacts being formed of a bead of solder 19 and a ring 14 having a series of depressions 21 to engage with a stud 27 on an annular spring arm 23. A central anode 7 and a split ring cathode 5 spaced slightly by projections 6 from the bulb 1 are connected respectively to the ring 14 and through a resistance 10 to the bead 19 attached to the ring 17. The arm 23 is connected by a strip 25 to a contact 26 and a spring 28 forms the other contact of the socket. Specification 457,325 is referred to.
