Abstract

503,089. Photographic cameras. KODAK, Ltd.. Sept. 30, 1937, No. 26476. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1936. [Class 98 (i)] A foldable photographic camera having a shutter of the setting type supported by the camera bed, comprises a shutter actuating member, movably mounted on the camera body, connected to the setting and release members on the shutter in such a way that an initial movement of the member sets the shutter, and continued movement releases it. In the form shown, levers 37 and 13 pivoted to the camera bed at 40 and 16 have vertical extensions 43 and 19 which engage respectively the shutter release member 42 and an extension 21 on a ring 20 surrounding the lens and also provided with a yoke 22 embracing the setting lever 23. The lever 13 is normally held against the stop 25 'by the spring 24. The shutter-actuating member is a transverse rod 6 with a button 44. It carries a finger 8, which, during an initial transverse movement, engages, at its oblique end 11, the lever 13, thus setting the shutter. After a certain movement the end of the lever 13 slips past the oblique end 11 andis returned to its initial position by the spring 24. Simultaneously a transverse pin 34 engages the slot 33 in a member 32 surrounding the rod 6 and engaging at its other end the transversely slidable member 29 which in turn engages, in the slot 39, a pin attached to the lever 37. A continued movement of the rod 6 therefore releases the shutter. When the button 44 is released the springs 26 and 36 return the parts to their original positions, the oblique end of the finger 8 being bevelled on its under surface to permit it to slide over the end of the lever 13.
