448,169. Photographic shutters. GUMPEL, K., 8, Olivaerplatz, and KAFTANSKI, F., 173, Kurf³rstendamm, both in Berlin. Dec. 1, 1934, No. 27072/35. Divided out of 448,127. [Class 98 (i)] Shutter mechanism of the single blade type comprises a pivoted sectorshaped shutter plate 13 having a reniform aperture 14 and operated from a spring 16 by a pivoted operating lever 17, the axes of the shutter plate 13, lens 5 and operating lever 17 lying substantially in line, and the shutter plate being provided with an abutment 15 for engagement with a locking member 21 during time exposures. The locking member 21 is moved longitudinally about a pin 21a into or out of position for engaging the abutment 15, and when they are in engagement, the aperture in the shutter plate is coincident with the lens opening. For an instantaneous exposure, the shutter plate 13 is moved under the action of a spring 16 from a stop 19 to a stop 20 or vice versa, actuation being by the lever 17.
