Abstract
472,105. Photographic cameras. LEITZ GES., E. Jan. 29, 1937, No. 2733. Convention date, Feb. 8, 1936. [Class 98 (i)] Relates to a photographic camera of the type having its back wall and part of its bottom wall attached thereto hinged to the camera by an open hinge so that the back wall when swung open through a certain angle can be completely detached from the camera. A casing is provided, containing winding mechanism auxiliary to the normal film winding mechanism of the camera, detachably secured to the bottom wall of the camera so that when it is in position a coupling member connected to the winding mechanism within the camera is automatically brought into operative engagement with a coupling member on the camera, connected to a part of the normal film winding mechanism of the camera without disengagement of the actuating device normally controlling the operation of the camera film winding mechanism. As shown in Fig. 2, the casing F containing the mechanism is attached by means of the screw F<1>, engaging the tapped hole A<3> provided in the fixed part of the bottom wall and normally used for attachment to a tripod. When the casing is in position, the slotted member G associated with the winding mechanism in the camera engages the coupling member F<5> geared to the driving spring F4. Recesses H are provided in the casing to accommodate the levers J. Each lever is coupled to a plate K<1> with a projection K<2> engaging a knob D2 on one of the film chambers which are thus opened and closed by rotation of the levers J. One of the plates K<1> has a cam groove K3, Fig. 3, to move the plate L up and down, and by engaging pins L<2> in slots L<1>, to lock the back wall of the camera. When not in use, each lever J, Fig. 1, is slid inwards on the pin K against the action of the spring J<1> and retained by the spring detent J<3> engaging the notch J2.
