[Class 97 (i)] In apparatus comprising a chamber for a removable film magazine, the latching means for the door or cover of the chamber is operatively connected with means for ejecting the magazine after the unlatching of the door. Fig. 1 shows a camera having a hinged cover 2, and a magazine chamber formed above a mechanism plate 5 between a plate 7 and a block 10 containing a feed claw &c. The cover has a lug 17 engaged by a latching member 18 when the cover is closed, the member 18 being carried by a slide 19, Fig, 2, secured to an external bracket 22 extending through a slot 21 and carrying a folding handle 24. The slide is moved to its extreme left-hand position to latch the cover, and to a central position to unlatch it. The member 18 is formed with an inclined surface 25 which does not contact with the magazine in either of these positions of the slide ; movement of the slide to the right of its central position, however, causes the surface 25 to engage an edge of the magazine, thereby raising it so that it may be grasped and removed. A spring 29 moves the slide from this position to its central position, when the handle is released. A plate 26 hinged to the plate 7 is urged by a spring to engage the magazine and to press it against the block 10.
