[Class 97 (i)] In apparatus comprising a magazine chamber one side wall of which is formed by the door of the apparatus, and a feed claw passing through a slot in the magazine to engage the film, retaining means is provided such that, after the door has been opened, the magazine can be removed only after an initial tilting movement which moves the adjacent wall of the magazine away from the claw. As shown, the magazine 21 is positioned against the front wall of its chamber by a spring 22, and against a support 20 by a spring 23. A member 37 with a spring tongue, secured in a recess 39 in a raised part 12 of a cover plate 11, extends over the forward part of the magazine, and necessitates outward tilting of the rear part of the magazine to effect removal; this movement moves the front wall of the magazine free from the claw 26, and may be effected by a crank and pin 42 as described in Specification 468,445. The retaining means may, alternatively, comprise a flange carried by the camera, or a lug, flange, &c. carried at or near the forward end of the magazine to engage one or more projections or slots in the casing. The magazine may contain a flexible sliding shutter closing both the exposure aperture and the feed slot, and operated by a pin 32 engaged by a saddle 16 on the latching bar 14 for the door of the apparatus, as described in Specification 469,950.
