Abstract

489,982. Photographic cameras. ZEISS IKON AKT.-GES. Nov. 9, 1937, No. 30750. Convention date, Feb. 26. [Class 98 (i)] A photographic camera having an objective mounting which can be pushed into the camera housing, and an auxiliary shutter for covering the ray path when the objective mounting is in the pushed-in position, includes means for positively moving the said auxiliary shutter into the covering position and also opening the main shutter in the camera housing, operation of said means being necessary before the objective mounting can be pushed into the camera housing. As shown, the objective mounting 5 is slidable in the housing 2 which also contains the shutter 3 controlled by setting and release members 19 and 20. The mounting is maintained in the exposure position in a bayonet joint 6. It has in its surface a longitudinal groove 7 leading to a circumferential groove 8. The groove 7 engages a projection 10 on the ring 9 which thus rotates with the objective. A plate 13 with an extension 12, pivoted at 14 to the housing 2, constitutes the auxiliary shutter. The time setting ring 15 has a lug 16 engaging the groove 8 in the objective mount. To push the lens mount into the camera the time setting ring is turned to the " bulb " position indicated by the scale 17 co-operating with a mark 18, and the lens mount turned until the groove 7 is opposite the position which the lug 16 has taken up. By then the extension 11 on the ring 9 will have engaged first the extension 12 on the auxiliary shutter 13 to move the latter into the ray path, and then the lever 20 to open the main shutter. The objective mounting may then be pushed into the camera housing through the main shutter.
