533,172. Photographic roll-film cameras. WESTMINSTER PHOTOGRAPHIC EXCHANGE, Ltd., and HARVEY, R. W. Oct. 13, 1939, No. 27861. [Class 98 (i)] An operating device for photographic cameras comprises a floating lever connected at two spaced points to means for operating the shutter and for releasing film-feeding means, the lever being held against a pair of stops by a spring and connected to an operating link which causes it to pivot about one stop to operate the shutter, until arrested by a third stop, about which third stop it then turns to release the film-feeding means. In the form shown, a floating lever 8 pivoted at 7 on a spring-urged lever 4 is connected at one end to a shutter-operating link 22 and at the other to a slide 18 having an upstanding finger 19 which engages a pin on an arm 2 controlling the film feeding means. The lever 8 is operated by a pivoted member 12 having an eye at one end releasably engaging a pin on a bell-crank lever 14 connected to a lever 15 operated by a press-button ; alternatively a Bowden wire may be connected to the member 12. The lever 8, which is normally held against stops 10, 11, first pivots about the stop 10, the lower end moving the shutteroperating link until it contacts with a stop 23 ; the upper end of the lever then moves the slide 18 which operates the arm 2 to release the film feed mechanism. To obtain a continuous feed of film by the spring driving means a rod 25 is operated by a press-button 26 to displace the crank-arm 2 beyond the position to which it is moved by the finger 19.
