469,981. Kinematograph apparatus. KODAK, Ltd. Feb. 5, 1936, No. 24030. Convention date, Feb. 16, 1935. Divided out of 469,950. [Class 97 (i)] In a camera &c. wherein the operation of the feed mechanism and the shutter is controlled by a blocking member movable into the path of a part moving with the feed mechanism, resilient means is provided which, when the blocking member engages the moving parts, first yields to act as a shock absorber and then returns the mechanism to a position such that the shutter is closed. As shown, a blocking member F is movable into the path of a nose C<1> on a crank disc C which is driven by a spring motor and operates a feed claw E urged towards the film by a spring E<1>. The member F has a slot F<2> engaging a pin F<1>, and is engaged by resilient means in the form of a spring G carried on a post G<1> ; one end G<2> of the spring engages between two ears F<3> and the other end G<3> bears against a lug F<4>. A rod or hook H operated by an external control lever &c. lifts the member F out of engagement with the nose C<1>. When the control lever &c. is released, the end G<2> of the spring moves the member F into the path of the nose C<1>, and the end G<3> yields to absorb the shock and afterwards returns the member F to the desired position.
