Abstract
365,925. Reflex cameras. STEINER, K., 19, Zieblandstrasse, Munich, Germany. May 7, 1931, No. 13539. [Class 98 (i).] In reflex cameras of the type in which the reflector actuates a cylindrical segmental shutter, the shutter is adapted to bear resiliently against the guide-plate. As shown in Fig. 1, the reflector a, pivoted at b, carries a curved shutter c which fits snugly against and bears resiliently upon a curved guide-plate g. When lowered, the reflector is retained by a spring catch d<1> which is released by a trigger e for exposure through the aperture c<1>. By turning down an adjustable stop f, the trigger may be further depressed to cause a second catch d<2> to hold the shutter with the aperture c<1> in front of the lens for time exposures. In a modification the shutter member is separate from the reflector and is resiliently pressed against the guide-plate by a segmental frame connected to the reflector ; lugs on the shutter engage an opening in the frame with lost motion so that the reflector may be lowered without uncovering the lens. Fig. 4 shows a further modification in which the separate shutter k is coupled to the frame by a spring tongue k<2> adapted to snap into recesses g<1>, g<2> in the guide-plate g to retain the shutter in the two end positions.
