Abstract
329,649. Schimmelpfening, F. Feb. 20, 1929. Cameras, reflex; shutters. - A view-finding mirror and an adjustable aperture adapted to act as a shutter of the single sliding plate type are combined in a box which slides in a housing .placed between the objective and focal plane of a camera. In the example shown, the two compartments d<1> and d<11> of the box d contain respectively the adjustably-mounted reflector m and an aperture e which may be varied to alter the period of exposure by moving a sliding plate h with an overlapping aperture f. The box d slides in the housing b under the action of a spring. In the position shown, the mirror m reflects the image through the aperture l on to a ground glass viewing screen. When released, the box d moves in the direction of the arrow A, and the aperture e, f slides across the lens aperture to effect an exposure. Immediately after the exposure, the slide box d strikes a flange k<1> on an auxiliary shutter plate k, causing the latter to cover the lens aperture and the aperture l preparatory to resetting the shutter. The shutter is reset by a pull rod, the auxiliary plate k being drawn away from the lens aperture by the engagement of the box d with a flange n on the plate k.
