Abstract
250,323. Balston, C. C. Jan. 9, 1925. Iris diaphragms.-In a photographic camera the diaphragm setting lever 20, Fig. 13, is set for an exposure and held, as by the notched plate 16. against the action of means, such as a spring, which automatically returns the setting lever to an initial or standard setting when released from the holding means, as by mechanism operated on closing or opening the camera. The lever 20 is in the form of a resilient blade mounted in a movable housing 18 which latter is under the influence of a coiled spring 10, Fig. 7, on the lens mount. The lever 20 is released by the rotation of a controlling ring 33 behind the plate 16, and the consequent downward movement of another apertured plate 42, Fig. 10, having a shaped surface 42a. The ring 33 is rotated by a rod 54 actuated by trip mechanism 67 when the camera is folded up.
