[Class 98 (i)] In a rapid film-winding mechanism of a camera comprising a trigger-like hand-operated member which sets or loads a spring filmwinding device, a shutter-releasing member is operated by the trigger as the latter completes its return movement. The camera shown is provided with a rapid film winder of the spring- controlled band type, the band 10 being connected to a slider 9 operated by a trigger 9a and carrying a pin 11 engaging in a groove in a pivoted cam 14, which in the position shown prevents depression of the shutter-release 7. A removable cap 15 surrounding the release contains a sleeve 17 downwardly urged by a spring 16 and having an L-form groove 18 in which engages a pin 20 on the release stud 19, so that in the position of the parts shown the sleeve 17 and stud 19 are locked together, and the spring causes the stud to depress the shutter-release 7 when the latter is freed by the movement of the cam 17 on the return stroke of the slide 9. By turning the stud 19 to bring the pin 20 to the vertical part of the groove 18, the stud is freed from the sleeve 17, the shutter being then released by depression of the stud in the usual manner.
