501,901. Discharge lamps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Aug. 10, 1938, No. 23606. Convention date, Sept. 11, 1937. [Class 39 (i)] A high-pressure mercury-vapour lamp and at least one other discharge device emitting a different radiation are contained within a sealed jacket which is coated with, or contains in its substance, material which is excited to luminescence by some of radiation from the discharge devices. Neon and sodium lamps are mentioned as additional discharge devices. The lamps may be operated in series or in parallel. Specifications 414,611, 444,950, and 463,873 are referred to.
