Abstract
501,009. Electric resistance furnaces. MITLEHNER, K. Aug. 14, 1937, No. 22413. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1936. [Class 39 (iii)] In an electric furnace with pulverulent heat insulation 10 and an inner lining consisting partly or wholly of ceramic bars 1, the heating resistances are mounted in the bars, thus avoiding the use of separate carriers for the heating coils. The ends of the hollow bars are closed by means of ceramic mouldings which prevent the dropping out of the heating coils and may be perforated to allow the heating wire to pass through. The ends of the bars passing outside the casing are secured by an angle iron 12 bolted to the outer casing 11 and engaging in a slot in the end of the bar. The heating resistances are supported on pointed projections moulded on the interior of the bars.
