Abstract

A powdered or friable granular preparation for adding to water, which is to be used for toilet purposes, consists of starch, a water-softening agent and a sulphonated foaming agent, a preponderant quantity of starch being present. The sulphonate of lauryl alcohol and sulphonates of fatty alcohols with naphthalene groups are mentioned as suitable foaming agents. An example is described consisting of 80 per cent starch, 10 per cent sodium sesqui-carbonate and 10 per cent sulphonated lauryl alcohol. Dye and scent may be added.ALSO:A powdered or friable granular preparation for adding to water, which is to be used for toilet purposes, consists of starch, a water-softening agent, and a sulphonated foaming agent, a preponderant quantity of starch being present. The sulphonate of lauryl alcohol and sulphonates of fatty alcohols with naphthalene groups are mentioned as suitable foaming agents. An example is described consisting of 80 per cent starch, 10 per cent sodium sesquicarbonate, and 10 per cent sulphonated lauryl alcohol. Dye or scent may be added.
