497,403. Induction motors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. June 18, 1937, No. 17045. Convention date, June 18, 1936. [Class 35] Each phase of the three-phase primary winding of a motor is divided into two parts with the mid-point connected to one end of the preceding phase and the supply is connected to the free ends of the windings for one pole number and to the mid-points for the other pole number, the two ends of the windings being connected together for the second-mentioned pole number. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the supply phases R, S, T are' connected to the free ends of the winding U, V, W which is in combined star delta formation for the larger pole number. In Fig. 2, the windings are in delta formation for the lower pole number with two half phase windings in parallel in each limb.
