Abstract

The processes described in the parent Specification are modified by using carbon oxysulphide, sulphur chloride, thiophosgene, or allyl mustard oil in place of carbon disulphide. The product may be used in lacquers, dyeing-assistants, or animalizing-agents. In examples, ethyleneimine is reacted with carbon oxysulphide in aqueous solution; a mixture of ethyleneimine and polyethyleneimine is reacted with carbon oxysulphide in aqueous solution or on cellulose wool fibres; ethyleneimine is reacted in aqueous solution with sulphur chloride or thiophosgene; polyethyleneimine is reacted in aqueous solution with allyl mustard oil, thiophosgene, or sulphur chloride. Instead of an aqueous medium, there may be used an organic solvent, e.g. a hydrocarbon, an alcohol, or ethyl acetate. Other imines specified are propyleneimine, C- or N-substitution products of ethyleneimine or propyleneimine, e.g. N-methylethyleneimine or N-phenylethyleneimine. According to the Provisional Specification, carbon disulphide is replaced by compounds containing sulphur, in general.
