Abstract

Animalized fibres which may be dyed with wool or chrome dyestuffs, are obtained by adding to a spinning solution, e.g. of viscose or cuprammonium cellulose, a finely divided insoluble compound containing nitrogen and sulphur obtainable by causing carbon disulphide to act on ethylene imine or a homologue thereof or a C- or N-substitution product or polymer of such compounds. In an example, ethylene imine base is mixed with a thickening agent, and to the mixture is added carbon disulphide; the emulsion obtained is incorporated in a viscose or cuprammonium spinning solution. In another example, ethylene imine or N-methylethylene imine and carbon disulphide are added to a gelatine solution, and the emulsion obtained is added to viscose.
