A solution of sulphur dioxide is made by contacting the gas with a liquid consisting of or containing dimethyl sulphoxide, e.g. dimethyl sulphoxide admixed with acetone or other known solvents.ALSO:A solution of acetylene is made by contacting the gas with a liquid consisting of or containing dimethyl sulphoxide, e.g. dimethyl sulphoxide admixed with acetone or other known solvents.
