Abstract
495,211. Luminescent materials. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and RYDE, J. W. June 16, 1937, No. 16754. [Class 98 (i)] [Also in Group XI] In a concave reflector 3 carrying luminescent material, e.g. rhodamine or zinc - cadmium sulphide, which emits visible light when excited by radiation from a source such as a high-pressure mercury vapour discharge lamp 2, the lower part of the reflector has detachably secured to its inner surface by clips 5 a sheet 4 coated on its convex side with the luminescent material 6 and made of a material which is permeable both to visible light and if it is not visible, to the radiation emitted by the source 2. Transparent paper and glass are mentioned as suitable' materials for the sheet 4.
