Abstract

292,002. Cubitt, A. S. Sept. 26, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Signs. - A duplex reflector sign of the front stencil and rearward reflector type has angularly arranged stencils each having in proximity to its rear surface a translucent reflector composed of a series of glass sheets so that each stencil is directly illuminated by daylight from above and indirectly illuminated by light received from the opposite reflector, lamps being provided for night illumination. The reflectors 1 are formed of a number of glass sheets spaced apart to provide air layers and are arranged at the rear of the stencils 4, a corrugated &c. glass sheets, 7 being interposed between the stencil and reflector. The top of the sign is formed of a plain glass sheet, or, as shown, a set of reflector sheets 6<a>. Light from above directly illuminates the stencils and after reflection from each lateral reflector further illuminates the stencil on the opposite side. Casing extensions 9 enclose lamps 6 arranged above the stencils and serve for night illumination.
