Abstract

515,464. Discharge lamps. OERENSOFI, N. S. March 5, 1938, No. 6914. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Group XI] In a discharge lamp arranged within an outer envelope parts of the surface of which are covered with fluorescent material these parts are flat or slightly curved and are arranged obliquely to the light from the discharge, so that the resulting illumination is composed of the light from the discharge and the light from the fluorescent substance, Fig. 1, shows a lamp 1 with a corrugated outer envelope 2, the fluorescent material 2a being arranged on the flanks of the corrugations. The corrugations may run longitudinally, instead of round the lamp. Fig. 3 shows an envelope formed as a number of bell-shaped elements decreasing downwards.
