Abstract
Magnets are made from a steel containing 0.6-1,4 per cent of carbon, 5-8 per cent of chromium, above 1-2,5 per cent of manganese, 0,2-3 per cent of tungsten, and 0,5-5 per cent of cobalt, the remainder being iron with the usual impurities. The magnets may be hardened by quenching for example in oil from 890-960 DEG C.
