Abstract
493,359. Float actuated valves. BOOKER, C. G. April 5, 1937, No. 9606. [Class 135] [Also in Group II] Apparatus for mixing small quantities of one liquid with another in flow, as in chlorinating water, comprises a float-operated valve for regulating the main stream interconnected adjustably with a needle valve for controlling the supply of solvent for the reagent. The main stream flows through a pipe 10 into a compartmented vessel the exit from which is controlled by a valve 21 carried by a lever 17 actuated by a float 13 in one of the compartments. A needle valve 34 admits water into one of three connected chambers in which a chlorinating solution is made and displaces an equal volume of solution into the water discharge. The valve 34 is operated by a cranked lever 24 one arm of which is fitted with an adjustable cam 26 against which contacts a pin 30 carried by the lever 17.
