Abstract

492,801. Rotary fans. WATTS, H. C., and AIRSCREW CO., Ltd. Jan. 11, 1938, No. 837. [Class 110 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] A method of constructing a fan rotor comprises forming bent up ears 2 on a flat blade 1, and securing the ears to the periphery of a rotor disc 3 as by riveting, welding, &c. The blade edge may be bent up and fit inside the outer plates of the disc. Alternatively ears may be formed on the disc, being bent outwards to form an angular slot into which a flat blade is inserted. The disc may be built up of sheets of different metal, and may have a wooden centre disc. The sharp corners of the blades may be rounded off, and the blades may be slightly curved instead of flat. Specification 16244/06, [Class 110], is referred to.
