Abstract

529,660. Wind wheels. SPARR, N. A. June 5, 1939, No. 16474. [Class 110 (iii)] A rotor comprises two or more cupped vanes 6, Fig. 3, arranged to provide connecting passages 7 between the vanes. The rear edges 9 of the vanes may be bent outwards. The vanes may be spherical, ellipsoidal, pear-shaped or the like. Major axes may be parallel, inclined or perpendicular to the rotor axis. The edge planes of two vanes may be oppositely inclined as shown in Fig. 13. Intermediate cup-shaped guide vanes may be provided.
