492,352. Amusement vehicles; steering. PERRIOLAT, E. Dec. 10, 1936, No. 33921. Void. Convention date, Dec. 10, 1935. [Classes 79 (ii) and 79 (v)] [Also in Group XV] In an amusement or other vehicle having a combined driving and steering wheel or wheels, the motor 1 drives the front driving wheels 5, 6, through a vertical shaft 3, worm 2 and wormwheel 7. The wheels 5, 6 are carried by a fork 9 rigid with a tube 12 concentric with the shaft 3 and rotatably mounted in a bearing 14, movement of the steering column 17 being transmitted by a pinion 16 to a ring gear 15 resiliently coupled to the tube 12 by resilient blocks 22, Fig. 3, disposed between arms 18, 19, rigid with tube 12 and arms 20, 21, rigid with the ring gear 15. Rear castors 26, 27, are mounted in carriers 28 connected by a lever system 33 to a cable 32 biassed by a spring 31 to bring the castors into parallel with the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. A lever 34 or pedal is provided for slacking the cable 32 to eliminate the effect of the spring 31.
