Motor-cars; motors and gear-boxes, mounting or supporting.-Relates to vehicles in which the motor casing is supported from the front axle by springs and is rigidly connected by the torque tube to the gear-box and rear axle, the body being spring-supported from the rear axle and pivotally mounted towards the front of the motor unit. The crank casing, Fig. 1, is carried by one or two transverse springs B upon the front axle and the clutch casing C<1>, Fig. 3, is connected by the torque, tube. D to the rear axle casing with which is associated a. two-speed gear. To the end of the propeller shaft. K are fixed two gear wheels L which mesh with either of the wheels N on a countershaft carrying the bevel pinion, which meshes with a crown wheel fixed to a solid axle. The propeller shaft is moved longitudinally to change gear by the hand lever M. A transverse pivot F mounted in bearings in the clutch case C' carries the clutch pedal &c. and also a shoe G<2> to which the front end of the body is secured.
