Abstract
492,244. Two-part couplings. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 22, 1938, No. 5598. Convention date, Feb. 24, 1937. [Class 38 (i)] The conductors 17 leading to a plug, socket or like device are anchored by means of a curable plastic material 15 forced into an aperture 14 that intersects the channels 8a containing the conductors, so that the plastic material adheres to the insulation of the conductors and is then cured. The plastic material may be uncured rubber. The socket device 1 is moulded in two halves one or both of which may have a hole 14. The channels 8a are sinuous and communicate with an enlargement 8 in which the end 10 of the cable shield 11 may be anchored by the material 15. A grip 12 may be provided for detaching the coupling. The leads may be anchored in a plug device, Fig. 4 (not shown), having an integral body with lateral holes for the reception of the plastic material.
