Abstract

590,873. Two-part couplings; binding - posts ; swivelling couplings. FORRESTER, R. E. April 25, 1945, No. 10363. [Class 38 (i)] An electrical plug or socket connector comprises an insulating block 12 having a cable entry aperture 13 dividing into passages 15, 16 for the separate wires 19 of the cable 14, said passages terminating in holes internally screwthreaded at 17 to receive externally screwthreaded plugs 20 or sockets which are hollow and have castellated inner ends presenting tongues 22. These tongues are deformed inwardly to grip the bared wires 19 by engaging tapered shoulders 18 in the holes in the block when the plugs or sockets are screwed therein. The inner ends of the plugs or sockets may be rotatable with respect to the plug or socket portion.
