[Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group V] A machine for dividing and rounding-up dough and, if desired, for rolling the roundedup lumps of dough into rolls, comprises, on the same base 10 a rotating measuring table 15 and a rotating rounding-up element 47 contacting with the face of the table, the table carrying measured lumps of dough into a trough formed between the element or cone 47 and a stationary coacting spiral member 62. The rounded-up lumps may pass down an incline on to a conveyer 68. When it is desired to roll the roundedup lumps into cylindrical rolls, the lumps leaving the spiral member enter the flared pivoted end 78 of a stationary channel member 72, and are passed by the cone along the channel to be discharged down a shoot 76. The table 15 is provided with pockets 19 provided with plungers 20 carrying rollers in engagement with a cam track 23, 24, 25. In operation, when the table-brings an aperture 18 beneath a dough hopper 34 supplied with compressed air from a pipe 36, dough is forced into the corresponding pocket and depresses the plunger 20 which, in turn, depresses a portion 23 of the cam track against the action of springs, and against an adjustable stop operated by a hand wheel 33. The cam portion 23 is connected to the part 25 by a spring member 24. When the pocket has moved from beneath the aperture in the hopper, the roller 22 moves up the cam track, and the plunger 20 comes flush with the table. The ejected dough lump is then carried by the table to the rounding- up channel formed between the stationary spiral 62 and the rotating cone 47.
