Abstract

490,111. Spray carburetters. GROVES, W. W. (Marklin Apparatebau Ges.) Oct. 29, 1937, No. 29626. [Class 7 (iii)] In a carburetter in which a hollow piston valve 2 controls an air inlet and a mixture outlet and embraces a member 5 integral with the suction channel, an air channel 39 leading to the idling nozzle 19 opens on the engine side of an air filter 37 secured to the suction pipe. The valve is guided in a slot 8 cut in the suction channel, which may be formed by a detachable sleeve, and is prevented from rotating by cooperating grooves and ribs 10, 11. The heads of the auxiliary, main and idling nozzles 17, 18, 19, are secured against a plane surface 13, and air is supplied through a bore 32 in a lug 34 behind the air filter 37 to an exchangeable tube 30 surrounding the main nozzle 18. The air supply to the idling nozzle 19 is regulated either by a needle valve or by a calibrated jet 38 in the channel 39.
