Abstract

487,775. Junction boxes. NELSON, W. A. Dec. 4, 1936, No. 33276. [Class 38 (i)] In an assemblage of junction, boxes, each box is divided by a partition into a sealing and a connecting chamber, terminals mounted on the partition serving to connect the conductors in one sealing chamber with the terminals of the adjacent box. As shown, two boxes 2 divided by partitions 4 into sealing chambers 5 and connecting chambers 6 are mounted one on the other in break-bond relationship, flanges 3 on the boxes being bolted together and covers 8,10 being similarly secured on the exposed chambers. The terminals may be interconnected by bent-strips provided with eyes for clamping on the terminals. In a modification the boxes may be of wedge form with the inclined margins of the connecting chambers bolted face to face. A housing for a lamp may be integral with or attached to the box.
