Abstract

370,492. Bulkhead glands. SAMBRIDGE, R. W., Derwent, Round Riding Road, Dumbarton. Jan. 8, 1931, No. 665. [Class 122 (v).] A bulkhead gland comprises an open box structure 1 attached by bolts 2 to the bulkhead to surround the cables 7 passed through the aperture in the bulkhead. Pairs of adaptor plates 5, 6 separated by packing 8 are made in halves to embrace the cables and are secured in position and the whole structure compressed by the nuts 10 on the bolts 2. Filling compound is introduced through the plugs 11. Specifications 109,897 and 112,289, [both in Class 122 (v), Stuffing-boxes &c.], are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 127,076, [Class 122 (v), Stuffing- boxes &c.].
