Abstract
248,871. Crabtree, J. A. Dec. 24, 1924. Plug couplings.-The insulator e, f containing the socket elements of a coupling is secured to its anchorage, e.g. to the box a by screws or bolts c which pass through holes in a plate b, resting on the insulator, into the bottom of the box a, grooves d being provided in the periphery of the insulator or one portion f of it, to accommodate the stems of the screws. As shown, an insulator is in two parts e, f, which are connected to each other and to the plate b by screws g passing upwards into blocks h which are inserted into holes in a screw-threaded boss portion m of the plate b. The plate b has a central opening to permit access to the socket tubes and the cover i of the box a is secured bv a flanged nut y which screws on the boss m. The insulator may have nipples which project through holes in the plate b and cover i the plug elements of the coupling being adapted to pass through the nipples.
