Abstract

531,372. Junction boxes. REDIFFUSION, Ltd., and NEWALL, J. S. July 20, 1939, No. 21097. [Class 38 (i)] In order that cables entering a box may be clamped in position before the connections are made, the base 1 of the box has a series of apertures 2, 14 for the cables, and flanges 5, 15, adjacent the apertures having grooves 6, 151 that co-operate with grooves in clamping- plates 7, 16 to grip the cables. The apertures may be closed by knock-out diaphragms 3 and may be arranged in groups separated by webs 4 into which may be notched a partition 17 to separate the connectors of different polarity. The cover 18 is secured by screws 19 after the connections are made.
