Abstract

421,677. Junction boxes. SYKES & DYSON, Ltd., SYKES, P., and COOPER, W., Queen's Mill Road, Huddersfield. Oct. 7, 1933, No. 27640. [Class 38 (i)] In order to avoid the provision of a new sealing- box when an installation is extended, a fitting is provided which is adapted to be secured to the sealing-box and comprises a connector whereby a conductor emerging from the sealing box may be connected to several installation conductors. The connector is a metal block d having a passage at one end for the main conductor and passages at the other end for installation conductors, all conductors being secured by set screws. It is housed in a two-part insulating casing adapted to fit at the end b over a projecting nipple on the sealing-box and having an opening c or series of openings at the other end through which the installation conductors pass. An insulating disc e is provided to cover such of the passages in the block d as are not in use. The disc is preferably set back from the edge of the opening c to enable insulating compound to be run into the fitting when the connections have been made.
